Province-by-Province French Immigration Options

Federal Francophone Immigration Options
Alongside PNPs, French-speaking applicants can also consider federal immigration options. French can strengthen an Express Entry profile and may provide access to French-language category-based selection when the candidate meets the applicable requirements.
For Express Entry’s French-language proficiency category, candidates generally need NCLC 7 or higher in all four French abilities, in addition to meeting the applicable Express Entry requirements.
French can also provide additional CRS points for eligible Express Entry candidates. A candidate who achieves NCLC 7 or higher in all four French abilities and meets the required English-language condition can receive up to 50 additional CRS points.
Important: French Score Is Only One Part of Eligibility
Applicants should not select a province based only on the French-language requirement. Your occupation, education, work experience, English ability, French ability, Express Entry eligibility, and provincial requirements should all be assessed together.
Also, NCLC 7 is not a universal requirement for every French PNP pathway. Some targeted provincial initiatives can have lower French-language thresholds, which is why applicants should always check the requirements of the specific pathway they are considering.
